  1. What happens if I try to send a message, but it can't be sent?
    You will receive a "delivery failed" alert. You then have the option to resend the message.

    If you decide you don't want to send the message, go to the Text Outbox from the Message menu, find the message, and delete it.

  2. How do I send a single text message to multiple recipients?
    Enter multiple addresses - phone numbers or email addresses - in your phone's Send To field and separate each entry with a space or a comma. The text message will go to each recipient and you'll be charged for every address you send to.
  3. How do I read a message?
    Exact steps will vary depending on the make and model of your i-wireless phone.  Messages will  pop-up or an alert will sound to announce that you have received a new message.  If the end user receives an alert, the message can be found in the messaging Inbox.  

  4. What if someone sends me a message that is too long? What happens to it?
    Messages exceeding 160 characters will be cut off and will not be visible on your i-wireless phone's screen.  You will not be able to access any character after the 160 mark.
  5. How do I save a text message?
    Select Inbox or any of the storage folders from the Messaging or Text Messaging option in your i-wireless phone menu.  Select the message to be saved. Select to Save the message.

  6. What happens if I don't receive a text message?

    Have the sender try to send again and make sure your inbox is cleared.  Yu may also want to turn your phone off and back on again.  If you are still experiencing difficulties, contact Customer Care at 1-866-594-3644 and they will be happy to assist you.

  7. What is text messaging?
    Text messaging is an easy, fun and inexpensive way to communicate when you’re unable to talk on the phone.  With 2-way text messaging, you can send and receive short messages of up to 160 characters in length.  You can send a text message from your i-wireless phone directly to most other wireless phone.
  8. How do I reply to a message?

    Select Inbox or any of the storage folders in the i-wireless phone menu.  Select the message to reply to from your Inbox of folders.  Select to Reply to the message.  Send the reply when you are finished typing your message.

  9. What if someone tries to send me a message when my phone is not in the coverage area?
    If the end user attempts to send a message while out of coverage, the message will be stored in the Outbox or Drafts folder, depending on the phone.  It will be automatically sent upon returning to coverage. 

    If the sender is not an i-wireless customer, sending options will vary on the service provider and the make and model of the phone.
  10. How do I compose a message?
    Text messages can be composed from the Messaging or Text Messaging option found in the phone menu.  Exact steps will vary based on the make and model of your i-wireless phone.
  11. Can I send text message to someone that is not an i-wireless subscriber?
    Yes, you can send text messages from your i-wireless phone to other phones that do not use i-wireless' services, assuming that the phone has text messaging capabilities
  12. How do I forward a message?
    Select Inbox or any of the storage folders from the Messaging or Text Messaging option in the i-wireless phone menu.  Select the message to forward from the Inbox or folders.  Select to Forward the message.  Send the forward when finished typing a new message.
  13. What if someone tries to send me a message when my phone is turned off?
    If your phone is turned off, the message will be stored in the network for 72 hours. If you leave your phone off for more than 72 hours, the message will be deleted and you won't receive it.
  14. How will I know if my balance is getting low?
    You can access your account balance by sending a text message to 1BAL (1225) and you will immediately receive a text message with your current account balance or by dialing #LEFT (#5338) from your i-wireless phone. i-wireless users can also manage their accounts online at www.iwirelesshome.com.

    You will also receive a text message when your i-wireless account balance drops to $5 or less.
  15. How do I send a message to an email address?
    Select an email address from one of your contacts, or enter a new email address in the Send To field. To enter text, click on the ABC button. Then select Normal Alpha. To enter the "@" symbol, choose Symbols from within this menu.

    Once you have entered the email address, hit Next. Then, enter the message and hit Next/Send.

  16. How do I send a message to a wireless phone number, i-wireless or otherwise?

    1.  Select Messaging/Text Messaging option from your i-wireless phone's Main Menu.  Then select Send New/Send Text.
    2.  Select a phone number or email address from one of your contacts or enter a new address in the Send To field.

  17. Am I charged for i-wireless alerts or any promotional text messages from i-wireless?
    No, you are only charged when you send a text message.  All incoming text messages are free.
  18. What if someone tries to send me a message and my inbox is full?
    If your Inbox is full, the message will be stored in the network for 72 hours. If your Inbox is full for more than 72 hours, the message will be deleted and you won't receive it.



  19. Can I disable text messaging on my i-wireless phone?
    Yes, you can disable text messaging on your phone. If you disable text messaging and then sign up for any text message service from i-wireless or from a third party other than i-wireless, text messaging will not automatically be turned back on. You will not be able to receive messages from i-wireless or from any third party service until you manually switch text messaging back on.
  20. Can text messages be sent to my phone?
    Yes, your i-wireless phone can receive text messages from another wireless user's phone, or a text message via email can be sent to "yourphonenumber@iwirelesshometext.com." The text can be sent in Plain Text or Rich Text format.
